The Christmas Chronology for Family Fireside Reading

Posted on:

Dear friends,

Two years ago, I combined all the passages from the Bible about our Lord’s Advent and merged them so that I could see the chronology of events and read them with friends. Please feel free to print the document and read it with your family and friends to remember that astounding event when the Word of God became flesh, when shepherds and wise men gazed in wonder, and angels sang of peace on earth.

Merry Christmas,

Beth Ann

Christmas Jeopardy for Family Fun

Posted on:

Great FaithfulnessDear friends, Last Christmas, Dusty and I had a fun time with our friends organizing a fun night at church – Christmas Jeopardy. Dusty was the game-show host, Mark, Karen and Shana kept the score and monitored answers, Glenn was in charge of the jeopardy sounds (he found online), and I came up with the questions. Feel free to use the questions for your own game by downloading them for free here.

Psalm 145 Print

Dear friends,

The Psalm 145 print is the only large print available in our store, click here to see details. Our customers have framed it in so many beautiful ways with colorful mats and ribbons, so I thought I’d share some photos with you.
Psalm 145
The Psalm 145 print is called an illumination. An illuminated manuscript is calligraphed words that include illustration in the form of decorated capital letters, borders or small illustrations. In former times, these manuscripts were defined by their use of actual gold or silver.

The Psalm 145 print is a signed and numbered, 15½ by 24-inch print available for $25. The original art for this print is 25 by 39 inches. I executed the letters with a pointed-pen and painted the border with gouache (an opaque watercolor).

This intricately delicate artwork draws you to come close to examine each word of the Lord in this Psalm.

Script writing with a pointed pen flourished in the late 1800s and early 1900s during the Golden Age of Ornamental Penmanship when master, itinerant penmen competitively promoted and propagated their particular styles among school students and in business. Today, script writing and good penmanship are almost lost skills, but anyone can learn this relaxing art! Click here to see the free instructions if you want to learn. God bless you,

Beth Ann
