Early Ear Now is Here!!!
Dear beloved of God,
Early Ear just arrived at my door from the printer! The Early Ear Quiet-Time Reminder is a 4 x 6-inch vibrant art card (postcard) that was designed to keep at your quiet-time location. The front of the card includes Isaiah 50:4-5. The back of the card includes an encouraging devotion about listening to the Holy Spirit. It is a beautiful card to include with any gift. If you slip this postcard into one of our Flower Girl Greetings art cards, only one regular stamp is still required!
Do you have a special place where you go each day to soak in God’s Word – His love letter to you? Is it a desk, a coffee shop, an old worn favorite chair? Maybe it is an empty cube at work? Today, I was remembering all the places where I’ve hidden away with Him since 1980 when the Lord wrapped His arms around me in such a tangible way. I couldn’t wait to find a place and time to linger with Him.
In the 1980s, I had to be at the bus stop at 5:30 in the morning to get to work on time. So, my special quiet-time place was the bus. Oh, how I remember how God met me during those years and also provided many open doors to share His love to people on the bus. They were like a family to me. Then, in the 1990s, there was the job on the 19th floor of a large office building in downtown Dayton that had small conference rooms everywhere. On my break, I would take His Word into a little conference room that overlooked the city. What comfort and warm times Yeshua (Jesus) shared with me in that little room. During a dark night of the soul, in 1998, I had a different job; I would go to a large section of the building where no one occupied the cubes (work spaces). I would hide in that space and pour my heart out to God over His Word. My Christian family (on that job) would often find me there to pray with me. Today, my quiet time is either by the fireplace or at my dining table always with a candle lit and a cup of organic Pacific Rim black coffee ☺
This season, while the sun is low in the sky and the days are short and dark, our tender-hearted Father God waits to wrap His arms around you as you linger with Him. No matter how long your to-do list is for the day, it’s good to remember the words of a hymn, “Those who wait for God are soonest at the goal!” Many times, after I have emerged from time with my Savior, my to-do list has shortened as I have seen that His purpose for my day was different than mine.
In Isaiah 50:4-5, the prophet shared the words of our Lord Jesus Messiah… words that we should follow as His disciples:
Adonai Elohim, the Lord Creator God, has given Me the tongue of disciples that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.
He awakens Me morning by morning. He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
May blessings, love, thanksgiving and shalom cover you in His Name,
Our mission at Flower Girl Greetings is to magnify the beauty of God’s Word and make it easy for you to share powerful encouragement in a tangible and lasting way with art cards and Bible study tools!
