October 11 — My Annual Celebration Day of Deliverance!
On September 26, 1998, I had a complete nervous breakdown. I didn’t have a clue what had happened to me. On October 11, 2001, I walked out of my Christian counselor’s office for the last time… declared well, healed, delivered. This three-year, tormentuous crucible could only be compared to either a volcanic explosion that left total devastation in its wake or a grenade explosion that left everything separated in tiny, tiny pieces. Would I ever be whole again? I wondered.
In my desperation, I reached out to as many believers that I could think of and asked them to pray for me. I believe that reaching out like this to the body of Christ was a key factor in my healing process.
The Lover of my soul, my heavenly Father, was there all the time. The new, fresh fruit that emerged as a result of this great trial eventually made its way into my paper called Freedom From Depression and Anxiety (that you can purchase or download for free here).
So, today I sing praises to my Father and Savior Jesus! When it seemed all was over, He did a brand new thing!
Where are you today? In a great trial or engulfed in dim loneliness? Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve experienced peaceful joy and contentment. Persevere in His Word, stay tuned toward Father, acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit each day since you received Him (John 1:12-13), let go of the things you cannot change, ask for prayer, and, although you may not feel like it, speak thanks and praise to Him anyway for covering your sin and blindness and giving you free access to His amazing love. He will come. Hold on for the next chapter of your life in Him! (1 Peter 1:3-7)
Warmly in Him,
